Hi! My name is Tricia Wathke. This is my tenth year teaching 3rd grade in Fall Creek and my eighteenth year teaching overall. I previously taught middle school in both Ladysmith and Whitehall. I grew up in Ladysmith, graduated from high school in Ashland, and went to college at UWEC. I graduated from UWEC with a bachelors degree in Elementary/Middle Education with an emphasis in Math Education. I returned to UWEC as a graduate and earned my masters in Professional Development with a Reading Certification. My husband, Jason, grew up in this area. We are proud to be raising our two boys, Riley and Jacob, in the Fall Creek School District. Riley is in seventh grade, and Jacob is in fourth. We enjoy fishing, hunting, and skiing together. Students in third grade will have genius hour. Genius hour is a global project where students take ownership of their learning and become passionate about the things they choose to learn about. I can't wait to see where your student will take us!!! Check out the genius hour link on this webpage. The students will learn to set goals and develop actions plans for reaching those goals. This will also allow kids to take ownership in their learning. I truly believe that a child will invest and find value in his or her own education if they get to make decisions about how to get there. It is so exciting to watch the kids get excited about reaching goals that they have set for themselves and worked so hard to achieve. I love learning with kids every day and look forward to a great school year!! |
