Cricket Stadium Renovation Campaign Update 2025
We are excited to share a Cricket Stadium Renovation Update presented during the Monday, February 17, 2025, Fall Creek School Board Meeting. Through the continuing efforts of our Cricket Stadium Renovation Fundraising Committee and additional generous donations from individuals, businesses and organizations we will now be able to move forward with the following additional components:
- New Visitors Grandstand with Storage – The additional seating is necessary for fans who previously could stand on our asphalt track during football games. The storage beneath the new bleachers will be used for equipment needed at the facility.
- Updated Home Grandstand – The home side bleachers are original to the facility. We will provide concrete pathways and additional screening to enclose the grandstand.
The new Visitors Grandstand is in addition to the base level of our renovation approved during the Monday, October 21, 2024, Fall Creek School Board Meeting listed below.
- Replace the Existing Track with a Modern 8-lane Rubberized Track – The current track surface is asphalt and has numerous inconsistencies, large cracks, and excessive damage due to erosion. Track facilities in the area and across the state have upgraded to a rubberized surface, now the standard across the entire USA, for performance, safety, and consistent durability.
- Improvement and Relocation of Field Events—Due to their deteriorating condition, our High Jump event will be relocated to the track's interior as part of the renovation. The Long Jump event will be refurbished in place and extended to include the Pole Vault.
- Additional Drainage on the Football Field – The football playing surface will remain grass. We will add an improved drainage system for the field to support the modernized track.
- Create Paved Pedestrian Pathways – The new rubberized track will require fencing and additional paved pedestrian pathways accessible for those with mobility limitations.
We will be breaking ground in the spring 2025 and are looking for additional donations to complete the remaining components of the renovation listed below:
- Upgrade Shot Put Area – The landing area is currently grass and would be upgraded to screened material standard at most meets. We also plan to update the throwing pad, toe board, and protective cage.
- Upgrade Discus Area – The landing area is not currently at the appropriate grade for competition. We will upgrade it, as well as the throwing circle and protective netting, to meet competition standards.
- New Scoreboard – The Scoreboard is also original to the stadium. We plan to upgrade to a modern LED-lit scoreboard with capabilities for track meets.
