Late Work
Projects and homework are eligible to receive full credit only if they are turned in on time. Late work will be scored as follows:
-
Projects and Article Responses: The work may receive up to 90% of the total points possible.
-
Math Homework: The work may receive up to 4 (out of 5 possible) points.
Corrections
Students may make corrections to units tests, quizzes, and math homework. Scores will be adjusted as follows:
-
Unit Tests and Quizzes: The student may make corrections and earn up to 50% of the points not originally attained.
-
Math Homework: The student may correct work that was turned in on time; the new score will replace the previous score.
Rubrics
A rubric is a guide for scoring student work. Most work completed in grade 6 math and science classes will be scored using rubrics. You may click on the links below to view commonly used rubrics in PDF form.

Student Feedback
I will do my best to ensure that every student's grade fairly and accurately reflects the quality of his or her work. Still, grading is not a perfect science, and it is possible that a student may disagree with a grade that he or she has received in one of my classes. In this case, I invite the student to talk with me. If he or she provides sufficient evidence that the grade is not reasonable, I will consider making an appropriate adjustment.
